Occupational Therapy Work Shop At SVNIRTAR

Sir/ Madam,

 

The Swami Vivekanand National Institute of Rehabilitation Training & Research (SVNIRTAR) is an autonomous body and registered society under the financial and administrative control of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Govt. of India. The Department of Occupational Therapy of this Institute will be conducting the Continuing Occupational Therapy Education (COTE) programme on "Recent advances in OT management of cerebral palsy children" for qualified Occupational Therapists on 22^nd  & 23^rd February, 2011. 

 

Above programme will be conducted at SVNIRTAR from 9.30 AM to 4.30 PM on the scheduled days. You are requested to nominate the suitable Occupational Therapist(s) of your organization on the prescribed registration form attached with the letter (photocopies are acceptable). Registration fees for the workshop is Rs. 300/- for professional and Rs. 200/- for PG students. Registration fees should be paid in the form of account payee demand draft drawn on any Nationalized bank in favor of "Director, SVNIRTAR" Payable at Cuttack and  sent to the course coordinator by 11.02.11 with filled up registration form.

 

The completed application form should be sent by registered Post only. Registration can be done through E-mail (jhunu_9@yahoo.in) but the course fee in form of Demand Draft must be sent along with the hard copy through registered post only. Please note that, the candidates other than the State/Central Govt employees who are planning to attend the COTE will be paid traveling allowance in the sleeper class/Bus fare by the shortest route.

This programme will   review the cause of abnormal development in cerebral palsy children. It will sensitize the occupational therapist to use different scales for identifying the problems as well as it will guide the therapist to use appropriate therapeutic intervention and use proper clinical reasoning and judgment to justify the use of proper technique.

Brief introduction to Cerebral palsy

Cause of abnormal development

Different scales like: PDMS, GMFM, TVPS, T I E

Different Therapeutic intervention: NDT, SI, Constrained Induced Therapy. Use of Tread mail and Corecta etc

Drug application   and post drug management

Common Surgery and Post surgical management.
