Continuing Occupational Therapy Education (COTE) On “Work Hardening Programme for Lower Limb Amputee” On 27th & 28th July 2011

The Swami Vivekanand National Institute of Rehabilitation Training & Research (SVNIRTAR) is an autonomous body and registered society under the financial and administrative control of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Govt. of India.

We are pleased to inform you that the Department of Occupational Therapy of SVNIRTAR will be conducting a Continuing Occupational Therapy Education (COTE) on “Work hardening programme for Lower limb Amputee” on 27th & 28th July 2011.

The programme is aimed at sensitizing the participants about the functional & vocational problems faced by lower limb amputees & work hardening programme for them. It shall   also orient the participants about identification of problems and use of appropriate strategies to deal with such problems. The deliberations are expected to provide an opportunity to the participants to understand the problems faced by the lowerlimb amputees and develop possible practical solutions.

Above programme will be conducted at SVNIRTAR from 9.30 AM to 4.30 PM on the scheduled days. You are requested to nominate one occupational therapist from your institution. Kindly conform the participation by sending filled up prescribed registration form attached to this letter (photocopies are acceptable) to the course coordinator on or before 20.07.2011. International Occupational Therapy Scholarship for Indian OT student



International Occupational Therapy Scholarship
Our International Occupational Therapy Scholarships programme is open to occupational therapists from India applying to study at Sheffield Hallam University on the MSc Applying Occupational Therapy programme who will be enrolling in September 2011.
The scholarships will be awarded to well-qualified students who demonstrate professional achievement in the personal statement on their scholarship application form. Successful applicants will have their course fees reduced by £3000, making the overall programme fee £8,520.
The MSc Applying Occupational Therapy Programme comes from the same Faculty as the successful MSc Applying Physiotherapy course which has a 100 per cent success rate in preparing students for Health Professions Council registration, a requirement for working in the UK. Demand for occupational therapists in health and social care remains strong in the UK.

PCBE for BPT/BOT and PCBE/PCME for BPO, provided the candidate has passed in each subject separately.  The candidates appearing/appeared in the 10+2 examination may also apply.   However, it is subjected to their clearance of qualifying examination with required percentage of marks before declaration of result of entrance test.
