AUTISM INTERVENTION TEAM


Ummeed Child Development Center is looking to hire professionals for their Autism Team.  
Ummeed is an innovative, leading-edge non-profit in Mumbai, offering services for children with disabilities and their families.  Staff work across disciplines, in teams designed to meet whole-family needs.  Emphasis is on design of top-notch clinical strategies for resource-poor communities: empowering families and communities to help improve the lives of children with disabilities.

Working in the Autism Intervention Team offers a unique opportunity to work with children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and their families using Ummeed's eclectic approach which combines ABA with structure and developmental approaches. 

It also offers opportunity to grow as a teacher by participation in Ummeed's training programs.  Individuals will have a chance to contribute to a rapidly growing field by devising innovative approaches for working with children with ASD.


Tasks:
  • Assessment of children and families
  • Development of Individual Family Service Plan for children with ASD
  • Ongoing care of ASD children and their families
  • Working as part of an Interdisciplinary team

We are willing to consider applications from Fresher candidates who have a strong interest in working with children wth autism.  Ideally candidates should hold Postgraduate (MA/MSc) in Psychology/Child Development/Other related discipline eg Occupational Therapy.  Ideally candidates would have some background in working with children with ASD.

Research Assistant ( Occupational Therapy)


Exciting new opportunity to work in an International Research Project!

Ummeed Child Development Center (CDC) and Yale University are conducting an international research project. 

This project is designed to develop An International Guide for Monitoring Child Development (IGMCD), a developmental monitoring tool for children from low and middle income countries.  Ummeed is the only organization from India along with organizations from South Africa, Turkey and Argentina who are participating in this research project.  You could join Ummeed as a Research Assistant to be a part of this path breaking process and gain valuable firsthand experience of participating in an international project of this stature.

Job Description-
After the initial training in administration of IGMCD, the research assistants will visit pediatric clinics in and around Mumbai for data collection.  As some of these clinics function during morning and evening hours, the candidates will need to be flexible about working hours.  The Research Assistant will be reporting to the Project Director at Ummeed.  The candidate’s experience and expertise will determine the scope for additional opportunities in the organization. 

Requirements-
  • Qualifications- Bachelors/ Masters  in Occupational therapy
  • Good Communication skills in Hindi, English and preferably Marathi / Gujrati
  • Commitment to the project for a period of 19 months

Remuneration- The remuneration will be commensurate with the experience and expertise of the selected candidates. Employment Notification for Walk-in-Interview
A Walk-in-Interview will be conducted for Indian citizens and eligible candidates for the following posts in this Institute purely on contract basis. Interested candidates should report to the office of the Director along with original documents and a set of Xerox copies of relevant self attested documents along with bio-data to appear in the interview on 24-12-2010 at 1.00 p.m. in this Institute. Candidates should report One hour before schedule time for scrutinized the documents.
Post:
Senior Professional Trainee (Academic)-OT-02 @ of Rs.15,000/-, Rs.16,000/- & Rs.17,000/- during first, second and third year.
Qualification:
Recognized PG Degree (MOT/M.Sc. OT) from a recognized college/University Good academic record & research aptitude shall be preferred.
Duties & Responsibilities:
To be engaged in clinical services at OPD/IPD, camp, and teaching/training to UG/PG Students in respective area and Research.
GENERAL CONDITIONS:
1. The Sr. Professional Trainee shall be engaged on year to year basis, extendable for three years subject to satisfactory performance.
2. The engagement will be purely temporary and for fixed tenure without any claim for regularization, what so ever form. It is under project 'learn & earn for career growth'.
3. The Sr. Professionals are teaching jobs. The experience gained shall make them eligible for faculty assignment in such institution, thereafter.
4. Candidates with academic, research and target oriented attitude/aptitude shall be preferred.
5. The knowledge of computer and team approach is must.
6. Working will be for six days in a week. Except one leave per month, no other leave shall be entitled.
7. Temporary out station duties may be given. The TA shall be paid as per rules.
8. Candidate should write the 'Name of the Post' applied for, on the top of the envelope.
9. Those appearing respective PG Exams will be eligible to appear in interview.
10. Candidate appearing PG Exams are also eligible.
