Composite Regional Centre for Persons with Disabilities, Ahmedabad has planned to conduct a training programme on “Rehabilitation of Vestibular Disorder” with a view to update professionals with the recent development and consequently enhance the quality of services offered by them. This two day training programme is planned to conduct from 17th April, 2012 and 18th April, 2012. Qualified physiotherapist and occupational therapist are eligible to attend the same.

The application should reach to the Centre before 9th April, 2012 as per the format enclosed. Please note that the accommodation will not be provided by the Centre but guidance can be given on available sources on prior information.

The course fee is Rs.400 (200 per day) which has to be paid in the form of demand draft in favour of Composite Regional Centre.

OTR Certification Examination Eligibility Criteria For Internationally Educated Occupational Therapists Effective July 2013

Effective July 1, 2013, internationally educated occupational therapists must meet one of the following minimum criteria to be considered eligible for the OTR® certification examination:
1.     Completion of an Entry-Level Bachelor’s  Degree in Occupational Therapy from a government authorized and/or WFOT approved college or university occupational therapy educational program AND a Post Professional Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy** OR
2.     Completion of an Entry-Level Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from a government authorized and/or WFOT approved college or university occupational therapy educational program**
**    In addition to the master’s degree requirement in occupational therapy, applicants must complete NBCOT’s Occupational Therapist Eligibility Determination (OTED) review to determine comparability to US accreditation occupational therapy educational standards/competencies. 

Important Notes: All internationally-educated occupational therapists approved for exam eligibility under current OTED eligibility standards must take and pass the OTR® certification examination prior to July 1, 2013 if they do not hold an occupational therapy master’s degree deemed comparable to a U.S. entry-level accredited master’s degree in occupational therapy.

Score foundation is a not for Profit Organization that provides information and advice on life with blindness to visually impaired individuals across India. It is responsible for Project Eye way, a national project to disseminate information on life with blindness via its radio shows in Oriya, Hindi. Helpdesk Teams are based in Delhi, Odisha and West Bengal

As part of its direct work with the Visually Impaired Individuals and children, Score Foundation is looking for an Occupational therapist (Paediatrics/Neurology) experienced in dealing with children especially visually Impaired children. The Occupational therapist would work holistically towards improving the occupational performance of visually impaired child through providing necessary skills, compensatory strategies and adaptive techniques. The therapist would also focus on reducing the impact of disability by promoting Independence and participation in purposeful activities.
The Occupational therapist would be required to engage with Visually Impaired children on the following:
• Gross and fine motor abilities
• spatial awareness
• ADLs such as feeding, toileting, dressing, grooming.
• Mobility Training
• Helping them explore the environment through play therapy. 
• Work with teachers of the visually impaired and other educators to ensure that the child is able to participate fully in the classroom. 
• Assists in the child’s transition into adult life, including vocational preparation and community living.
• Engage with Adult and Elderly Visually Impaired Individuals in therapeutic Interventions.
Salary would be best in Industry complying to standards and commensurate with qualification and experience.
