Job Opportunities for Occupational Therapists at RECOUP, Bangalore

For all the posts, the following criteria apply:
1. Tenure: 3 years, subject to satisfactory Performance
2. Joining date: As soon as possible
3. Hours of work: 9 hours, 6 days a week
1) Job Designation: Academic Occupational Therapist (Job Ref. No.: ACAD1/2012)
 No. of vacancies: One
 Location: RECOUP Research and Training Centre, Anjanapura Layout, Bangalore, India
 Qualifications and skills required:
 Master’s or doctorate qualifications in  Occupational Therapy from a UGC recognized or a reputed overseas University.
 Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively on research projects
 Thorough knowledge of Biostatistics, Research Methodology and SPSS.
 Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
 Effective public speaking, presentation and training skills.
 Proficiency with standard office computer software.
 Strong publication record.
 CTC Salary range:  Rs. 2.4 to 3.6 lakh per annum (depending on previous research track record). Free shared accommodation is available.
2) Job Designation: Consultant Paediatric =Occupational Therapist (Job Ref. No.: PAEDOT1/2012 for Occupational Therapist)
 Location: RECOUP Neuromusculoskeletal Rehabilitation Centre, Anjanapura
Layout or other branches in Bangalore (Indiranagar, Jayanagar, HSR Layout, Sarjapur Road, ITPL, Vijayanagar, etc.)
 No. of vacancies: 4
 Qualifications and qualities required:
 Graduation (BPT or BOT) from a recognised University
 Over 2 years experience of treating children with developmental disabilities, especially cerebral palsy
 Practical training in Neurodevelopmental Therapy and Sensory Integration
 Must be able to work independently and to exercise initiative and judgement
 Effective public speaking, presentation and training skills necessary
 Knowledge of standard office computer software
 Report writing, programme planning and advanced evaluation skills required
 Excellent verbal communication skills.
CTC Salary range:  Rs. 1.8 to 3.0 lakh per annum, commensurate with prior experience and achievements. Free shared accommodation is available. Performance based incentives may be considered.
Preferable attributes:
 Master’s qualifications in Neurology or Paediatrics (MPT) or Developmental
Disabilities (MOT)
 Knowledge of Biostatistics and Research Methodology
 Research/publications in developmental disabilities or paediatric rehabilitation.
3) Job Designation: Consultant Occupational Therapist (Job Ref. No.: OT1/2012 for Occupational Therapist)
 Location: RECOUP Neuromusculoskeletal Rehabilitation Centre, Anjanapura

 Qualifications and qualities required:
 Graduation (BOT) from a recognized University
 Excellent verbal communication skills
 CTC Salary range:  Rs. 1.20-2.40 lakh per annum, commensurate with prior experience and achievements. Free shared accommodation is available. Performance based incentives may be considered.

  1. Hi there, it's interesting to see the kind of work that is available for OTs in India. I am hoping to visit India from New Zealand for three weeks in September/October 2012 and it would be great to get the opportunity to meet some OTs while I am there, either individually or as a group. I am currently lecturing at the School of OT in Otago Polytechnic, and it would be possible for me to do a seminar about my research (mostly neuro) or about OT in NZ. I'll be visiting south India Kochin and Chennai mostly, but may also travel more widely. I would love to know more about OT in India.
