Occupational Therapy is a health profession that assists individuals with mental illness to maximize independence in their daily occupations and life roles. Occupational Therapists view occupation as those entire activities people do that give our life meaning and determine who we are. In the field of mental health, Occupational Therapists specialize in assessing how an individual's mental illness impacts on their ability to function in their everyday occupations and roles.
