General Introduction:

 

Medical professionals need to upgrade their skills always to survive as the competent practitioner. Clinical reasoning is an essential skill every medical practitioner should possess and no one can deny this fact. Hence, we organized this workshop to enhance the Occupational Therapy practitioners treatment planning and reasoning skills.

Myo-Fascial Release:A effective Technique in Physical Rehabilitation

Course description:

This course is designed for clinicians interested in acquiring their knowledge, skills and abilities in technique of myo- fascial release. Participants will be prepared to apply learned strategies and techniques immediately upon return to the practice setting. This course will substantially improve the therapist's knowledge of myo- fascial release technique.

The Swami Vivekanand National Institute of Rehabilitation Training & Research (SVNIRTAR) is an autonomous body and registered society under the financial and administrative control of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Govt. of India.

 

The Department of Occupational Therapy of this Institute will be conducting a Continuing Occupational Therapy Education (COTE) on "Role of OT in management of Low Back Pain" from 23rd November 2010 to 24th November 2010 for qualified   Occupational Therapist & PG students of Occupational therapy.

 

Dr. Firoz Ali, Spinal Surgeon & Mrs. Prativa Vaidya, Assistant Professor in Occupational Therapy who is working with the Low Backache clients regularly have given their kind consent to be the resource persons for the above COTE.

 

Above COTE will be conducted at SVNIRTAR from 9.30 AM to 4.30 PM on the scheduled days. You are requested to nominate the suitable Occupational Therapist(s) of your organization on the prescribed registration form attached with the letter (photocopies are acceptable). Registration fees for the workshop is Rs. 300/- for professionals and Rs. 200/- for PG students. Registration fees should be paid in the form of account payee demand draft drawn on any Nationalized bank in favor of "Director, SVNIRTAR" Payable at Cuttack and be sent to the course coordinator by 12th November 2010 with filled up registration form.

Occupational Therapy WorkShop , Mumbai

Ummeed Child Development Center announces workshops on 'Introduction to sensory integration' and 'Occupational therapy Intervention for children with autism'.  

Faculty: Anjali Joshi, Occupational Therapist, Dr. Roopa Srinivasan, Developmental Paediatrician and some of Ummeed's senior Occupational Therapists will be the faculty for these workshops.

Eligibility: Only practising Occupational Therapists are eligible to attend these workshops. Therapists with minimum of one year experience of working with children will be given a priority for the second workshop.

Both these workshops are mutually exclusive and attendance for workshop I is not a prerequisite for admissions to workshop II.  Participants will be issued a certificate of participation by Ummeed child Development Center.

Seats available: 30 only. Walk-ins will be admitted depending on the availability of seats.
