Managing Brachial Plexus and Peripheral Nerve Injuries -Therapy Concepts


Society for Hand Therapy, India is happy to announce the one day course on "Managing Brachial Plexus and Peripheral Nerve Injuries -Therapy Concepts" in Mumbai.
Course Objectives
At the end of the course 
Will demonstrate an understanding of the following:
             1) Anantomy of Brachial Plexus and peripheral nerves
             2) Brachial Plexus and Peripheral Nerve Injury management
             3) Principles of Tendon transfers

About the speaker
Shrikant J. Chinchalkar M.Th.O, B.Sc.OT, OTR, CHT is a hand therapist at the Hand & Upper Limb Centre, St. Joseph’s Health Centre in London, Ontario, Canada.  He has over 35 years of clinical experience in treating upper extremity conditions.  He has presented papers and has conducted instructional courses on “Hand and Upper Extremity Rehabilitation” in many Countries during their annual conferences. He has over 30 years of teaching experience at different universities in Canada and abroad. Shrikant was awarded the “Paul Brand Award of Excellence in Hand Therapy” by the American Society of Hand Therapists in 2003.  He received the “Best Clinical Paper” and “Best Poster Presentation” awards in the past. He also received an  “Award of Excellence” by the Sisters of St. Joseph’s Hospital in London, Ontario. He has published papers and abstracts in numerous peer reviewed journals related to Upper Extremity Surgery and Therapy. Shrikant has served as a scientific program chair for the American Society of Hand Therapists and program co-chair for the Canadian Society of Hand Therapists annual meetings. He has developed hand and upper extremity rehabilitation programs at four leading centers in Canada.

  2. Most occupational therapists, and constantly asked to explain what it is, they do so. After all, the "occupation" in that work, or occupation, so the title itself may be misleading. Although the "physical" and "speech" modifier indicates, the focus of a special treatment.
