Inga-Britt Lindström grant award


The Swedish Association of Occupational Therapists (FSA) has established a grant award in the name of Inga-Britt Lindström to recognize her long commitment and unwavering effort as the president of the Swedish Association of Occupational Therapists from 1978 until 2008.
The purpose of the grant is to support the development of occupational therapy in the applicant’s native country. The maximum amount of the grant is 10 000 Swedish kronor (SEK) per year. 

Closing date is 1 October 2012.

The grant is anticipated to be used to supplement in part the costs associated with activities such as

·         participation in occupational therapy workshops, seminars, conferences or congresses in Sweden,
·         study visits or auscultation in Sweden aimed at gathering extensive knowledge of occupational therapy practice,
·         studies in Sweden at the doctorate or masters level related to research and education in occupational therapy,
·         Presenting an abstract at COTEC or WFOT congresses.

International Occupational Therapy Scholarship



Our International Occupational Therapy Scholarships programme is open to occupational therapists from India applying to study at Sheffield Hallam University on the MSc Applying Occupational Therapy programme who will be enrolling in September 2012.
The scholarships will be awarded to well-qualified students who demonstrate professional achievement in the personal statement on their scholarship application form. Successful applicants will have their course fees reduced by £3000.
The MSc Applying Occupational Therapy Programme comes from the same Faculty as the successful MSc Applying Physiotherapy course.

Occupational Therapy post in Allied Health Sciences, Kuwait University

The Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, Kuwait University, has recently established a new department of Occupational Therapy and has vacancies for a Lecturers and a Senior Lecturer positions

Qualifications
Applicants MUST have a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy and a relevant Master’s degree. Lecturers MUST have a minimum of 10 years’ teaching experience since obtaining their Master’s degree and Senior Lecturers must have 15 years’ experience.

Salaries and benefits
The monthly salary for Lecturers, including basic salary (KD 730 – 842) and professional/technical allowances, is 1750 - 1862 Kuwaiti dinars per month. Senior Lecturers receive 2030 – 2142 Kuwaiti dinars per month (basic salary 830 - 942). In addition there is a cost of living allowance of KD 50 per month, a housing allowance of KD 300 per month (single) or KD 400 (married and accompanied male). There is also an end of service gratuity of half a month’s basic salary for the first five years of service and one month’s basic salary for each year of service thereafter. Other benefits include paid summer leave of approximately 12 weeks, paid 2 week mid-year break, furniture allowance of KD 2000, round trip air tickets, conference attended and medical insurance. Salaries and allowances are paid in Kuwaiti dinars. There is no income tax in Kuwait, and currency is transferable without restriction.

The candidates who have passed their 10+2 examination before the year 2009-2010 and have discontinued their regular studies for more than 3 years are not eligible to appear in the entrance test.
